The 2026 Health and Movement Science Trial Examination & Improvement System provides a complete, secure trial examination together with practical resources for marking, feedback, results analysis and post-trial HSC improvement.

It has been developed to save teachers the considerable time involved in:

Important security-period information

This is a current secure examination.

The examination security period concludes at: 2.00 pm Friday 28 August 2026

During the security period:

• examination materials must be stored securely
• access must be restricted to authorised staff
• questions, answers and teacher-support resources must not be made available to students
• the examination must not be used for classroom revision, tutoring or assessment preparation
• student-facing post-trial review resources must not be used until the security period has concluded.

The examination may still be securely administered as a school trial, reserve paper or make-up examination during the security period.

Schools already using another provider’s trial examination can also purchase the package now, then administer Trial Examination A as a timed mock examination and use the complete improvement program after the security period concludes.

Package 1: Trial Exam Pack $97

A complete current-year examination and marking package for schools seeking a secure, HSC-style Health and Movement Science trial paper with much more support than a conventional answer key.

What is included

1. 2026 Health and Movement Science Trial Examination 

A complete 100-mark, three-hour trial examination designed for the first Year 12 Health and Movement Science cohort.

The examination includes:

• Section I: 20 multiple-choice questions
• Section II: 56 marks of short and extended responses
• Section III: two 12-mark extended responses
• A separate, printable student answer sheet for Questions 1 to 20

The paper can be used as:

2. Comprehensive Marking Guidelines

A complete teacher-only marking document for all 100 marks.

It includes:

• the multiple-choice answer key and HSC style criteria

• guidance on what stronger responses should demonstrate
• common student mistakes
• question-specific feedback notes
• full sample answers
• general marking advice
• a syllabus and outcome mapping grid
• targeted performance-band information.

The sample answers and indicative content are provided as guidance rather than as an exhaustive list of everything students may write.

3. Question-Specific Marking Support, Feedback and Feedforward Resource

A practical marking and feedback document designed to be used either as teacher marking, peer marking or self reflection. This document allows for specific individualise feedback to be given quickly. Teachers can tick the comments most relevant to each response instead of repeatedly writing the same feedback by hand.

For every written-response question, it includes:

• the complete marking criteria
• expected content
• features of stronger responses
• common mistakes
• a sample answer
• question-specific “What you did well” feedback statements and “What to do next time” feedforward statements.

The feedback and feedforward statements also includes a shared diagnostic-code system identifying common areas. Repeated codes can help teachers and students identify whether the main issue are such things as missing content, misunderstanding the question, weak application, insufficient development or examination technique.

It also contains student reflection and goal-setting pages that may be used after the security period.

4. Response Band Thresholds Guide

A question-specific resource showing what student responses can look like at each available mark or mark range.

Unlike exemplar model answers, these are threshold responses. Each response shows the minimum evidence needed to enter that particular band.

For each written question and mark level, the guide explains:

• what the response includes
• why it qualifies for that mark
• what prevents it from moving into the next mark or band
• what would strengthen a top-band response further.

This helps teachers:

A ready-made Google sheet that converts entered student marks into class and individual performance information.

Teachers enter student marks into the designated mark-entry tab. The connected analysis pages then update to help show what requires attention.

A structured student spreadsheet designed to be used alongside the Post-Trial Review and Improvement presentation.

Students use the booklet to record:
